Sounds like sapsucker [downward] "whew. pair. Excavated hole in dead tree about 40' high. Female handed material to male. Rattle call is not Rufous-winged Woodpecker. Probably Cinnamon Woodpecker. [P.I. simplex. Vari-speed used on ATR-700, 2 o'clock position. Mic inputs (20 db attenuation) used on last section of copy.]. Response to playback: Different song. Other Behaviors: Mate. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Edge.
