Détails de l'observation
Nicholas' notes: Very cooperative bird. Perching in the open, calling. Flying back and forth from bushes to feeder. It was not shy in our presence; we were standing within about 6 feet of the feeder, where in nonchalantly perched, paying no mind to us. It was close enough to snap with the cell phone camera. Got good looks through my binos and even better looks through Ken's scope. The bird's colorful breeding plumage is just starting to come in, as seen on the separated vertically-oriented bars on the throat. The tail is obviously short with the wingtips just at the tail tip, or just past it, depending on the view. I got some digiscopes as well showing the throat bars. Ken took audio of the chipping calls.
