Détails de l'observation
An absolutely amazing find! A bird that I really, really, REALLY wanted to see and one of my favorites. When the bird was first found, I was on Martha's Vineyard for another week and highly doubted it sticking until my return. Much to my amazement, it seems this was the last day it was seen. A surprisingly large Cuckoo with some resemblance of an Accipiter in shape, flight and plumage. Overall gray, black and white with strong dark gray over paler gray barring from the face down through the throat transitioning to dark gray over white through chest (forming a vague hooded look) to the bright yellow feet. Striking yellow orbital ring matching feet and gape. Immi bird appeared to be molting and looked to be missing some tail feathers. Awesome bird!
