Détails de l'observation
Adult basic. A good consolation prize for not seeing the SAGU that Sean had alerted us about. On the beach, only 50m from us to begin with, although we didn't see it until 20 minutes along. It was flushed several times by walkers and eventually ended up about a kilometre down the beach. Was last seen by others until about 1:30 when it flew over the trees towards the bay. Larger than a BOGU and smaller than the accompanying RBGU. Light gray back, bright red bill with a dark tip, bright red legs, dark spot behind the eye that extended up onto the top of the head. In flight, dark underside of the primaries and white triangular “windows” on the top side. See photos (that were taken at the wrong setting!).
