Détails de l'observation
I was happy enough to hear them, of course... but then, to my absolute astonishment, I had an unforgettable couple of minutes with a Shining Bronze for the first time in years!! The funny thing is, despite its very docile and even curious nature, I'd never have seen such an exquisitely camouflaged bird if, by strange perchance, I hadn't looked up just in time to see the little twigs it'd been perched on moving when it hopped aside!! It really didn't care about me; indeed, the only emotion I could sense from this bird was fascination with what on earth I might be as it peered this way and that sidelong... and then, out of nowhere, a male Robin hurled itself onto the Shining Bronze, and my photoshoot was done. What's more, while I was locked motionless in my standoff with the Rail, an especially gorgeous Shining Bronze was hopping about in the undergrowth before it flew off in a blaze of pure gold!!
