Détails de l'observation
found by Glenn Johnson earlier this afternoon. while driving down from Windy Gap, I got a text from Glenn regarding a COTE/ARTE at Dumas Bay, so since I was already south I went to go check it out. I found the tern on the beach very close to some people in wooden chairs, and it was quickly flushed, giving me good looks at its white secondaries and dark tipped primaries. Even though I'd just had two from the Seattle-Bainbridge ferry, much better looks at this indiv, providing for a really nice study. For most of my stay, seen flying out over the bay, regularly returning to rest on the beach for up to 15 minutes at a time. small tern, extremely short legs, white secondaries, dark tipped primaries, short black bill, extensive black hood.
