NOTES: Range status: NORMAL; Breeding status: UNKNOWN; Beh. context: UNKNOWN; Frequency of sound: NORMAL; General climate: CYCLIC WET-DRY; Cover density: SPARSE; Age: UNKNOWN AGE; MALE(S) BNA: Although the bird seems to be correctly identified by sight and sound to be a Lark Sparrow, the song on this recording does not sound anything like an adult. Perhaps it is a whisper song or a song by a sub-adult. CZ 24/03/2004 [Agreed, this is not typical song of the species, but I do believe it was correctly identified based on the song. I would not expect a subadult to be singing in mid-June, but I suppose it is possible given that young should be out of the nest by this point. The BNA account does not provide much help with this. Quality unchanged (1-2) - CAM - 30 November 2004]. Habitat: Grassland.
