Détails de l'observation
I'm pretty positive this is a very strange Red-winged Blackbird, but I'd like a reviewer to take a look at it. I first saw this bird on April 14th, and I assumed that it was growing in new red feathers or something like that. However, I just saw it again this morning and it looks identical to how it looked earlier. The red patch is fairly small, suggesting that something is wrong with those feathers. The orange/buffy patch looks like it's supposed to. Maybe the feathers are missing? It seems to have some shape. It also seems like the red feathers might have white tips at the end. Maybe a very worn bird? It otherwise looks very fresh, the tail feathers don't have weathering or stress bars. I can't figure it out. Photos attached.
