Détails de l'observation
Continuing first state record. Consensus seems to be that this bird is a young male. Body was a yellowish-orange color, with darker wings, two white wing bars, and a heavily-streaked olive back. Breast, throat, and face was black with dark mottling on the crown and extending down the back of the head. The nape, back and top of head had an unusual yellow-green color that was quite prominent in the field and fairly striking as a color I don't often see on birds. The legs and feet were a dull steel-blue color that also stood out in the field. One of the things that was most apparent to me was how long, thing, and pointy the bill was. Bill was dark with a fleshy pink color at the base. Oddly, the mottling on the head, dark face, and long, pointed dark bill with light base gave the bird a vaguely "starling-ish" face. All in all, a very neat bird.
