Détails de l'observation
The White Wagtail (ocularis ssp.) that has been present during most of the months of 2-20 and 3-20 continued around noon on 3-27-20. I observed the wagtail from the usual vantage point on the bluff on the south side of the Colorado River near the pavilion and playscape accessible from Grove Blvd. However, the wagtail was not present on the gravel bank on the north side of the Colorado River where it is often observed. During the intial period during which I was present, the entire gravel bank on the north side of the Colorado River across from the observation point was underwater due to the release of water from Longhorn Dam about a mile upstream. Eventually, the water level began to drop and the gravel bank began to re-emerge. As I was waiting for the river level to subside, I observed the wagtail about 30 yards downstream from me on the same (south) side of the river on the rocks near the edge of the river. From the bluff, I observed and photographed the wagtail from about 12:01 pm until 12:06 pm at which time it flew farther downstream.
