Détails de l'observation
Yellow lores patches present but not very prominent, neck generally shorter and thicker than TRUS. Forehead a broad U-shape instead of more V-shape of a TRUS. During pauses between foraging it would often give the typical high-pitched rattling calls typical of TUSW, too high pitched for TRUS. Nearly all of my observation was watching this bird through scope and camera lens. When it would briefly lift its head out of the water its neck appeared very thin due to the feathers being laden with water but after a few minutes with its head up the feathers would dry a bit and the neck looked the more typical thick appearance of TUSW.
