Western Piping Hornbill: Many recent records at Botanical Gardens and the University of Ghana Campus at Legon, Accra. This otherwise uncommon forest hornbill in many Forest Rserves in Ghana, have been seen/heard in the University of Ghana, Legon Campus area since 2012-2013, with recent observations of up to 10 birds including immatures the Legon Botanical Gardens: 08-09-2017 at 18:10 hrs: Piping Hornbill x 10-11 Seen: Botanical Garden at Boughey Avenue. 26-12-2017 at 15:54 hrs: Piping Hornbill x 1 Seen edge of Botanical Gardens i big Ceiba tree. 28-02-2018 at 17:10 hrs: Piping Hornbill x 3 Seen: Botanical Garden at Alley to Vaughan's Dam - photographed (Photos attached). 06-03-2018 at 18:03 hrs: Piping Hornbill x 5 Seen: Flying from Bot Garden via New N. block towards DABCS and probably Little Legon/Lower Hill and further towards Achimota FR? LHH. Elevation: 66 m. Date added to IBC: March 22, 2018.
