A female White-winged Triller perching and calling in a high wind. White-winged Trillers (Lalage tricolor) are found throughout most of mainland Australia, mainly in lightly wooded habitats. They are mostly insectivorous, taking a wide range of insects and small spiders, as well as some fruits and seeds. This female White-winged Triller was perched amongst dead twigs on a shrub on the Miaboolya Beach Road, north of Carnarvon in Western Australia, hanging on in a strong wind and calling occasionally. Elevation: 6 m. Date added to IBC: September 10, 2019.

Rufous Songlarks (Cincloramphus mathewsi) are found throughout most of mainland Australia, mainly in lightly wooded habitats. They are mostly insectivorous, taking a wide range of insects and small spiders, as well as some fruits and seeds. This non-breeding male Rufous Songlark was perched amongst dead twigs on a shrub on the Miaboolya Beach Road, north of Carnarvon in Western Australia, hanging on in a strong wind and calling occasionally.
