Tawny Frogmouth female - head study with eyes open. The Tawny Frogmouth trio we have been following from late last year has laid a second clutch of three eggs. The male has mated with two females, who sit close by during the day while he stays at the nest with the three chicks. This female was mildly interested as I approached, opening her eyes fully. She then relaxed, and feigned sleep. Elevation: 7 m. Date added to IBC: February 3, 2018.
