Détails de l'observation
Small dark juvenile Jaeger chasing and being chased by gulls very close by on east side of tip at around 10:15 am. Dark topside of wings other than pale covert tips and bright white shafts of outermost primaries, white mottling on underside of wing coverts, small bill and overall stature with broad chest, long projecting central tail feathers, black and white barred tail base, drastically smaller wingspan than nearby HERG. First spotted by me, then seen well by Blake and Keith, and eventually by Jim and Steve and a handful of other birders when it came back up the west side where they were walking. My (and most/all of the others’) first LTJA for the park!
