Détails de l'observation
Rare. Immature male that popped up about a foot off the ground in dense vegetation before moving up a little higher and then flying away. I studied it for a minute in bins and when I didn’t think it was a COYE, I tried to get some quick photos, which aren’t good. White eye-arcs and yellow that extended the entire length of the underside led me to distinguish it from an immature Common Yellowthroat. Though imperfect, when any of the photos are entered into the Merlin app, the ID comes back as Mourning Warbler every time—despite being rare for the location—and COYE isn’t even suggested. I’m certainly open to feedback, though, because I know it’s unlikely here at this time.
