Détails de l'observation
*Accidental to casual in the late spring. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Copious photographs and video taken, and will be posted and embedded later. An extremely pink bird in full breeding plumage, with thick black collar. Found in the late evening, after the clients had been dropped off. Initially seen in flight, and nailed by Scott naked eye, and then roosting on the ice for the next 50 minutes or so before we left the area. Appeared to be settling in to roost for the night. The species is almost certainly annual during the late fall and/or winter months in the area, but this is only the 8th or 9th record for the Pribilofs since the early 1980s. This individual appears to have an injury to its rear right flanks, though it seemed perfectly healthy (flew just fine), and you couldn't see the apparent wound unless it lifted its wing up.
