Détails de l'observation
Large shearwater came cruising through low over the water, headed north. Obvious tube nose, long bowed seabird wings. Basic pattern was dark brown above, white below, underside of the wings had white going up the middle with dark coloration around the edges. Capped appearance similar to Black-capped Petrel with white coming up the sides of the neck and covering the bottom of the head, (chin, throat, and cheeks up to even with the bill). Narrow white band across the uppertail coverts just in front of the tail. I spent all the time that it was closest watching through the scope so my photos are basically useless and all shot from directly behind the bird. I may have one where you can see a hint of the white band above the tail.
