Individual number two, has a slightly lighter head and neck, and much lighter breast than individual one. Also shows less contrast between head/neck and body coloration than individual one.
Détails de l'observation
We found two immature birds with a large aggregation of 90 Black-footed and 5 Laysan Albatross at a trawler that had just finished a long tow and had hauled its net onboard. There were numerous small rockfish in the water that had probably popped out of the trawl net as it was being retrieved. Over the course of 70 minutes that we spent in the area, we encountered the two birds regularly. The last time we encountered them, they were just over the county line, in Pacific County. We had the opportunity to study both at close range.
