rufous rump visible
Détails de l'observation
Small gray warbler seen in same area as last winter. Medium gray with creamy gray belly, pale lores, faint rufous on rump. Undertail white. Molting near top of small pointy bill. Seen adjacent to river channel, at first on chain link fence next to eucalyptus (between school garden & handball court; about 34.146007, -118.368131). It flew off and I lost it; after a few minutes it came back to the fence again. The next time it flew off I was able to follow it and it landed in plants on opposite side of the river channel (the downslope below the freeway). It was extremely active in grasses/weeds. Very little weedy vegetation on park side of the river, unlike last year (so maybe can be seen across river near freeway more often?), and bird not associating with any other birds (last year it was often with Bushtit & Lesser Goldfinch flocks).
