I have never seen him fly, instead he walks across the ice. He seems uncomfortable, constantly flapping his wings to keep from freezing, and never standing too long on one foot.

This cormorant has been here for a few days, staying by my house in an unfrozen pool of water. It is the first I've ever seen this far into winter.
