NOTES: Number of Animals: juvenile; Physical Description of Sound: a 'series of barks' decreasing in loudness 'quak, quak, quak, qua'; Apparent Biological Function of Sound: reaction to begin caged, may be a threat; What Behavior Accompanied Vocalization: animal was inside of a cardboard box in the cage; What did Animal do When not Vocalizing: walked around, stopped and flashed tail; Description of Exact Place From which Sound was Made: inside a cardboard shoe box, inside a 0.5 inch wire cage 3' X 1.5' X 1.5'; the cage was outside on grass 1.5" high. there were bits of newspaper on floor of cage;.
