NOTES: 103 songs of BIRD #2 recorded at dawn (6:20:20); following the end of cut #99-99-04, I missed ten songs changing tape (the first partial song on this tape was the birdÕs eleventh song after the previous reel ended); this tape began at 5:54 am, with the bird in the same spot it used at the end of the previous cut; the long calls were from a second individual; the bird was 35 meters up directly over my head; recorded 250 meters short of Estrada do Gave¿, along road to house and Rio Barra Seca [19¡ 04Õ 21" S, 39¡, 53Õ 47" W]; the bird was using its third perch of the day for this cut, though most songs had been given from this spot; the bird began with a long call at 5:32 am, and then songs; all long calls on this tape, however, were from a second individual; after the recorder was turned off, I heard an additional long call at 6:21:13 am, and two additional songs at 6:26:28 am and 6:27:24 am; clear overhead, but clouds on horizon; calm initially, but a trace breeze at end of cut; low to mid 70s. ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatus to Xiphorhynchus guttatus [guttatus Group] to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
