Subtitle: Marine Full Moon Chorus. NOTES: MLNS notes: EDO fathometer used; trouble with hydrophones causing interference and overloading. Ship propeller noise around 22 minutes into the cut. Tape notes: began 10 minutes after sunset. Drums, HJH, tapper. Good sounds on Station #4. "Nothing I can do to fix this [R-130] hydrophone -- the other one's worse." Note referring to around the beginning of the cut: "about 15 minutes ago they saw a turtle on the stern... twice now this situation." "We are within several miles of the western edge of the Gulf Stream; however this morning we were further from it in about 62 degrees of water and we still had the low booms but no jackhammers." Log notes: Tone (booms) must be independent of High JackHammer or knocker, tappers, due to hearing only the tone (booms) on this station. The tone(booms) appear to be staing on and were still going strong when we had to leave station 4 by 2200. Moonlight still bright. TEMPWATER: 22.
