Call and drum roll from one individual plus interaction sounds from four total individuals. The individual landed on the top of an electrical pole that it had alreayd visited several times without vocalizing. This time, it called and drummed (I missed the first call). Three additional individuals flew in nearly simultaneously, followed by interaction vocalizations. The gap represents about 20 seconds removed for a car that passed right by on the gravel road, swamping the signal. During the second segment, the individuals had scattered to a nearby cluster of deciduous trees (in response to the car driving by), which was also a site regularly visited.
Détails de l'observation
I observed and recorded a "family unit" of four individuals. Their "home base" seemed to be an area right around the crossing of Co. Rd. 302 over Hurricane Creek that included a specific electrical pole and a small stand of deciduous trees. However, they ranged across a very broad area several hundred meters north and east of the apparent home base. I never observed them going west across the creek or south of home base.
