NOTES: (Species Sound: constant; Breeding Status: territorial; General Climate: arid; Cover Density: medium; Strata in Habitat: song perch) Final segment at 10m distance. "Whizz" and "plink" calls announced on tape. These 2 male Bobolinks had adjacent territories and were interacting at the common border. [This recording represents primarily song but there are also many examples of the "Buzz" call of BNA (0:49-0:505, 1:20-1:22, 1:29-1:325, 1:34 [?], 1:365, 1:41-1:425, 2:005-2:015, 2:05-2:06, 2:08-2:10, 2:12-2:13, 2:20-2:215, 2:305-2:31, 3:115-3:125). These songs appear to be of roughly the same song-type despite having somewhat different introductions (e.g., compare songs (or song introductions) beginning at 0:10, 0:18, 0:31, 0:42, 1:06, 1:13, 1:39, 2:42, 2:53, and 3:09, with those beginning at 0:51, 1:09, 3:28, 3:46, 4:00, 4:08, 4:12, 4:18, and 4:25). Note that the first of these introductions is shared with songs in LNS #106601, which appears to highlight one of the two birds represented here. Although two males were said to be present, it is unclear to me whether these songs were given by one male or two. Quality added (2, 1-2 - signal is generally good but Geothlypis is singing throughout early part of recording; BEST songs are after 2:33) - CAM - 8 September 2005]. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Grassland, Freshwater, Deciduous Forest, Swamp, Creek, Riparian, Hedgerow, Bank.
