Black wingtips, bit smaller than the Glaucous-winged gull it pecked a few times, almost straight top of bill except very end where it went up just a tiny bit (I had not seen this before on Thayer's I have observed), the saddle of the culmen had the yellowy-orange colour versus the much lighter colour of the rest of the bill, otherwise the bill was quite dainty, small gonydal spot,
