Presumably these were the same 12,000 grackles I observed on Crittendon Rd field - across from Hidden Cove just after 8 AM today: https://ebird.org/checklist/S290497280 There I could see them all as they flew in. Here, I could not see them all because my vantage point was limited by the houses and trees.
