I was looking at some gulls when I saw two large shorebirds on the mudflats, after looking at them through a scope I noticed their very long down curved bills that were pink at the base and black closer to the tip along with their large stocky build. I also noticed an interesting foraging behaviour where they were sticking their bills into the mud and then turning their heads upside down.
