This plover was particularly pale and looked very light when seen from a distance. It had light, flesh colored legs, chunky black beak, black irises, a white collar, forehead, supercilium, throat and belly. The sandy brown upperpart feathers were edged a paler brown. It was feeding on a sandy beach at the edge where water was hitting the sand. Tibetan sand plovers would sometimes chase this plover away. We saw it several times that day until about 1530 hours after which we did not come down to the beach. The attached photograph is by Badruddin Ali.
