Behaketaren xehetasunak
Walking down the trail to the water I heard a distinct 2-note descending call coming from the woods, mid-story, at approx (35.8196, -79.0287). This is about 25ft from the water. Sounded crisp like a flycatcher call. The Acadian call is a one-note 'pip', while the Acadian song is a 2-note ascending song ('pizza'). This bird sounded a bit like a YBFC but not quite burry enough for the song, plus it would be quite early for a migrant to come through, especially with no recent storms to account for a bird blowing off-course. Only non-Empidonax would be an Eastern Phoebe which has a call that is vaguely similar. Merlin wouldn't ID the bird at all. BirNET suggested either Carolina Chickadee, Black-capped Chickadee or YBFC.
