Seen well and heard calling. Chunky Phylloscopus warbler with long primary projection and long under tail coverts reaching almost to the end of the tail. Bright yellow throat, whitish underparts, green upper parts, strong yellow supercilium. Brightly coloured feet and bill between pink and orange, legs similar but slightly duller. Bill rather broad. Call a flat, soft-toned whistle, like bullfinch but flatter and less distinct. Low-pitched for a bird of this size.
