Some debate about how many birds involved here, and whether there was any pure Winter Wren at all during our encounter. The first bird we saw was recorded by phone with the first two recordings here (ML614709971, ML614709972). The first bird appeared to be a Winter Wren, with a contrastingly pale throat and well-defined supercilium, overall grizzled appearance, and white spotting on mantle. That bird flew west, but apparently landed just out of view. Soon another bird popped up that from that area. Its call was similar, but slightly higher pitched and more "sneezy" sounding (ML614724321). It was far and and we didn't get any useful looks. After 10 minutes of the bird occasionally being present, a bird came a bit closer from the west, and gave lots of bubbling and trilling. I will add some of those calls later this week. When we eventually got a better look, this bird seemed to be a Pacific Wren with limited spotting only on wing and a warm brown throat. That final bird is reflected in this eBird checklist as 1 Pacific Wren.
