Behaketaren xehetasunak
I saw a couple of prey deliveries at nest #9, including what appeared to be a White-lined Sphinx or similar moth, and a dragonfly, both brought by the female. The male made several “empty“ visits to the nest hole, at times perching at the edge, and at times quickly entering and exiting. The male also spent a lot of time perched on a dead palo verde near the nest saguaro, and on a couple of occasions, I watched the female land next to him, and then, appeared to chase him off the perch, as if to say “go find some food for the kids!“ I also saw a second female-plumaged martin land on top of the saguaro arm just above the cavity, evidently a nest helper. Two nestlings were at times visible resting at the opening of nest #8. With the endoscope I was able to confirm 3 nestlings in the interior, 17-20 days old. 3 martins mobbed me during endoscoping: 1 adult male and 2 female-plumage birds, including main female (the one with the molt gap in her remiges).
