Behaketaren xehetasunak
Continuing rarity. Photo'd. A small peep, slightly smaller than the Western Sandpiper it was foraging with. They were the only two peep seen. The face was fairly plain with a thin white eyeing around its dark eyes. The lores were slightly darker. The cheek and face had pale rufous tinge while the crown had pale rufous feathers with black centers. The throat was white surrounded pale spotting on the upper breast and on sides of breast that was rather faint in color. The breast was not solid in color with a necklace of black spots below like an adult Red-necked Stint would show. It had a medium-length black bill that was fairly straight with fine tip. The scapulars had wide off-white edges with bold black centers. Wide rich rufous tertial edges with black centers were distinct. Black legs that were long. There is no webbing between the toes thanks to good photos taken by others on previous days. I couldn't see this myself.
