Detalles de la observación
Reported by Bill Boyle's wife Karen Thompson in the morning as a suspected bchu. Scott Whittle, Tom Johnson and I tried later that morning with no luck. More information was given that the bird visits early in the morning disappears during the day and makes a reappearance late in the evening. Melissa Roach Tom Johnson and I returned in the evening and successfully photographed the bird after about 20 minutes of waiting for it to show up. Photos of tail spread show a shorter r3 than r4 which should eliminate bchu. Long observation of it feeding on pineapple sage showed it not pumping it's tail, rather just vibrating in flight. A shot of the extended, folded wing did not show any bulging, just slender, even width, tapered wing at the end.
