Identified by voice as it flew by. Not seen. Noise from strong wind nearby is also audible. Edits: trimmed and normalized to -3 dB.
Detalles de la observación
Audio recording. Heard in flight as the bird flew from the direction of the parking area toward the craters. Not seen. These are classic type 2 flight calls: rapidly downward-slurring, about 0.05 seconds in duration, and most calls have a kink (where the pitch goes back up briefly) about 1/5 of the way down between the peak and minimum pitch. This is arguably the most common flight call type in Jeffrey pine and ponderosa pine forests in California, although other flight call types are also possible.
