NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 6. Bulk reel: 403. Weather: Cloudy fair. a) 7:00 AM. After hearing the two-note call (female), I whistled an imitation several times and this recording resulted. Note that one of the songs is three-noted. Quality: 2. Level: +3. b) 8:15 AM: Later the bird started singing again. I noted that it starts its song with one single, drawn-out note before continuing with the normal two-note song. I whistled one such long note and one couplet and bird immediately came in and started singing. This time it injects sseveral three-note phrases. Quality: 2. Level: +5. No parabola. Note: This time bird did react to playback and sang the two-note type song. With repeated playback eventually I also heard a male-type song but couldn't be sure if a male had actually been attracted or the presumed female gave this song.
