Detalles de la observación
2 seen a bit downstream of the reach 3/4 boundary, both a bit ratty looking. Observed one foraging in an alder with pinholed leaves, and saw it eat two of the shiny blackish beetles which I suspect have caused the defoliation! This individual had fairly tattered-looking head feathers - perhaps undergoing prebasic molt and losing some of the head feathers? 2 others seen ca 100 m above the diversion; observed 1 eating a Red-osier Dogwood fruit. Later, I detected 2 near the raised hill. Finally, an additional bird flushed from the vicinity of some fruiting Cirsium arvense near the turnaround point, flying into a streamside alder. On the return, I saw several again, widely distributed along the stream.
