Detalles de la observación
A continuing bird, found here on October 11, 2025 by Dessi Sieburth et al. Two things: first, many thanks to Aidan Brubaker and Emmett Iverson for re-finding it after a 10-day absence. Until they texted us the morning of, this was not something we were expecting to see. Second, many thanks to Max Breshears who immediately got us onto the bird. This was a very small dove. I (Kellen) come from Hawaii, so I'd say it was like a Zebra Dove in terms of overall size, but with a much shorter tail. The body was entirely a warm pinkish-brown color, which contrasted a grayish head, and there weren't many other prominent patterns other than some clean black lines running on the coverts. We basically saw the bird entirely here: 36.455520, -116.871160, though it flew northeast right as we left.
