Detalles de la observación
Changing from Chipping to Clay-colored based on input from What's This Bird. Patrick Comins noted that "The lores are perfectly clean, the back is overall pale, it has a light-buff wash on the flanks, the post ocular is fairly weak and tan, it definitely has a moustachial stripe, white malar and lateral throat stripe." Jeanne R. Tinsman addressed my concerns about the rump saying it was "more a 'buffy-very light brown-but with gray tones' to my eyes, not the steel pale gray I think of on Chipping Sparrows." The bird was seen in the southwestern end of the park in the plantings around the gazebo at 40.6697, -74.1272. I last saw it on the fence near the gate to the neighborhood.
