Detalles de la observación
I saw this sparrow fly low across the bike and walking paths were were on about .1 mile south of the north parking lot of Lake Phalen as we started our walk. I saw a yellowish patch on its face as it flew to the ground and walked into the shoreline native planting of grass flowers and bushes. It seemed hesitant when it moved farther in and as we passed I could see it through binoculars on a big branch on the ground but behind grasses, and could see the forehead patch...though it was almost the color of the grass. I kept taking pictures hoping to get a clear one of the patch but it stayed behind the grass with the patcc blending in as you can see in the pictures, except for the one out of focus picture where you can see the patch. The sparrow could be young and the patch could be the beginnings of the midline stripe.
