Continuing from earlier this morning; another awesome discovery by Brian D!! Thanks again (and again), Brian!! :)) Re-found, by Mallika S and Cadeo S-S. Thanks, guys!! :)) Active, alternate-plumaged male with a black mask; bay crown, throat, upper breast and sides; pale neck band; creamy-white underparts and undertail; buffy flanks and around the vent; grayish back with dark steaking; bold white wingbars; dark bill; grayish-pink legs. 1044 to 1314 – observed bouncing around on the westside of the “island” (33.704864, -118.002885), visible north of the channel. Visited the various trees in the area, mostly foraging mid to high canopy. We tracked it from the “island”, and across the open lawn to the little channel (33.705858, -118.002551), south of Loren’s Ditch, but then immediately booked it back to the “island” where we lost sight of it. Later on, Curtis was able to re-find in the Cottonwoods, further west from its original location before booking it across Talbert lake to the Jack Green Nature Area, east of the Park Bench Café (33.705687, -118.004831). Solo and vocalized a “see-see-see” song along with some chip calls.
