Detalles de la observación
Seen closely. At least two making high songflights. Recorded as Mediterranean / Turkestan Short-toed Lark at the time of the observation. However, identification here is based on analysis of sonograms of breeding birds singing in April-May 2024 in the same reserve, which indicated Mediterranean Short-toed Lark to be the breeding taxon present. Further, Mediterranean is believed to be (fairly) sedentary whereas Turkestan Short-toed Lark, a medium to long distance migrant, occurs mainly in Arabia (at least eastern Arabia) as a winter visitor from November to February. It is hence regarded as less likely to be present at the time of year of this record. Above reflects the current state of knowledge but observer is more than happy to adjust these records in the light of additional knowledge.
