Detalles de la observación
First found by William Knudson, birds were feeding and resting at the beach just west of Paul and Babe. Birds were very approachable and didn't fly until an unknowing beach walker came within about 6 feet of them. Dark grey legs. Straight beak of medium thickness and length. Appeared as grayish bland tint on a gray day with dark brown interspersed mottling but not on belly. Black on tail when standing. Distinct sharply demarcated 3 color wings as shown in photo of flying bird. Best description is as seen in photos. Photo shows 21 but count was 22. May have been the second reported willets in Beltrami County, the first being found last year on upper Red Lake.
