Detalles de la observación
All males. We walked up the old mining road from the little parking area towards the mountains to the north. Our first encounter was with two males near a small rock out cropping, rather like a plateau, on the east side of the road. The bird landed for good views and another was seen flying close by. A third was heard singing simultaneously in a different area. We started back to the car and some distance from those first three males we heard a sound that sounded similar to the “whit” of a Gray Flycatcher but it was louder and more ringing. Then another Scott’s Oriole popped up on the top of a Joshua tree doing this vocalization which none of us had ever heard. It flew across the road and landed not too far from us continuing the same vocalization. RCH
