A Cajamarca Antpitta sings, after playback of the scold I taped at our lunch spot, from a thicket of berry tangles and a bit of bamboo growing under a pine plantation amid paramo-like habitat at Mile 38 from Cajamarca, 3300m (11,080’ by my altimeter watch), on a cloudy afternoon. The 1st 2 cuts were interrupted by traffic. The 3rd cut is after playback of the 1st. We saw this bird well. There were at least 2 individuals vocalizing here. Digitized from original tape recording on a Sony TCM5000, with a Mineroff booster & a Sennheiser series mic with foam windscreen.
