These birds are under the heading of "Tribura major" (Sharpe, 1891: 73) which, according to Lepage (2024), is a variant of Dumeticola major, the protonym of Locustella major major 'Brooks, 1871', i.e. Long-billed Bush-Warbler [Locustella major (Clements, 2023)]. "Nos. 1845, 1850. Kugiar, June 2, 1874." (Sharpe, 1891: 73) Note: The location of "Kugiar" could not be traced, therefore its position is placed on the route described, and north-west of Chiklik, where the expedition reached on 4 June and whose location is known approximately (https://ebird.org/checklist/S168107602).
