Detalles de la observación
Pretty amazing numbers. I stood at the edge of the marsh (at 37.28102° N, 120.92968° W) as the sun was setting and flocks of blackbirds streamed in for minutes on end. I was quite surprised to find YHBL in these numbers, but I suppose there’s so little appropriate habitat in the San Joaquin Valley that they must concentrate somewhere. Adult males were the most easily visible, but I noted good numbers of adult females and young males molting into breeding plumage.
