lifer!!! what a pretty bird! after trying to photograph the swallows at the dumpsters I walked backtowards village and in one bush I heard some loud, metallic, harsh tinking like calls - I likened them to dusky warbler calls and initially thought it was one. and then I saw the tiny but colorful bird in the bush, first with bins and then immediately grabbed camera for photos - such a beautiful bird with vivid red on its back, an adult male. its much easier to photograph than phylloscopus warblers, didn't move around and stayed on that same branch for at least 10 seconds and I walked a bit closer, it was approachable and didn't fly away immediately I got some more photos before it took off from the bush and flew away. this bush was at the wall of someone's home, so it seems they are quite close to human habitation. very lucky seeing one here!
